WHAT WE DO

 The Healthy Futures Initiative(TM) is a signature program of Field of Dreams Visionary Center that provides free health and wellness services to underserved families in the Garfield Park community. Through health screenings, nutrition education, mental health resources, and fitness-focused activities, the program promotes early prevention and healthier lifestyles. 

Offered year-round and featured during our annual Back to School Family Fest, the initiative also connects families with job training and placement services—supporting both physical well-being and economic stability. By removing barriers to care and providing community-centered support, Healthy Futures empowers individuals and families to thrive at every stage of life. 

Finding and maintaining employment is an important step towards self-sufficiency. Our job training programs provide clients with the skills and resources they need to succeed in today's job market.  We never leave our graduates alone, we provide on the job coaching and lifelong support and securing, and maintaining employment.  

Most of us are fortunate enough to have a home to go to and a  comfortable bed to sleep in daily. But for many people, access to these  simple pleasures have been lost due to many unfortunate  circumstances; job loss, health, low wages, debt.   We provide emergency, transitional and permanent housing assistance.

 STEAM Youth Program
Our STEAM Youth Program empowers young people through hands-on learning in script writing, television and film production, entertainment, art, and music. Designed to spark creativity, build confidence, and develop real-world skills, the program gives youth a platform to express themselves, explore careers in media and the arts, and envision bold futures. 

 Home Buyer Services
Our Home Buyer Services are designed to guide individuals and families on the path to homeownership. Through Home Buyer Roadshows, pre-purchase preparedness workshops, and credit repair assistance, we help clients build financial readiness and confidence. We also connect eligible buyers to down payment assistance programs through our partnerships with multiple banking institutions and the Illinois Housing Development Authority (IHDA)—making homeownership more accessible and achievable. 

 Financial Literacy Program
Our peer-reviewed Financial Literacy Program is a 10-week course designed to build strong money management skills, economic understanding, and financial independence. Upon completion, participants receive a Certificate of Completion, which can be used by formerly incarcerated individuals to support petitions for record sealing or expungement, depending on the level of their felony. This program empowers individuals to rebuild their lives and achieve lasting financial stability.
